Embrace the Impossible with Abracadave Magic!
Early in his entertainment career, David ‘Abracadave’ Randell tried his hand
in many different fields. Studying music performance as a saxophone major, he
eventually traded the jazz licks for a more familiar style of rock and spent
several years on the Toronto rock’n’roll scene as a drummer.
It was his desire to find an entertainment vehicle that would allow his quirky sense of humour to flourish and reach people on a more individual level that led to the next stage in his career – magic.
A chance visit to a local Toronto magic shop, and the entertainment passion he was looking for appeared before his eyes.
Inspired by such legendary magicians as Michael Ammar, Paul Harris, Jay Sankey and English card man Guy Hollingworth, David mixes fun and humor into his card effects to give the maximum possible entertainment value to his audience.
His style of delivery developed in the non-stop magic world of the theme park.
He spent two seasons at Canada’s Wonderland in Toronto, Ontario developing the
routines that he now uses in his close-up, walk-around performances. Perfect for intimate events like parties, weddings or restaurants, and versatile
enough for larger corporate events or trade shows, walk-around magic retains
that personal connection that allows the audience to embrace the impossible!
The past 10 years has seen David take his magic all over the world on cruise ships. Instead of progressing to a larger style variety show, David has maintained the personal connection to each and every spectator of his effects, feeling that that is what makes the experience so special - both for himself and his audience!
David continues to divide his time between cruise ships and his new homeland of Ireland.
